The Bla Bla Bla through the eyes of Stephanie

After I sent her my questions, Marjo thought she would also send me some questions to answer about the Bla Bla Bla… Here are my answers!

Even to this day, what is the “Bla Bla Bla” moment you’re thinking of that makes you inevitably smile?

Now that’s a very, very hard one. I must admit that every single edition of the show has something that makes me smile. Every show is just so unique. Being unable to find only one moment amongst all of the episodes we’ve had, I’ll go with the last one, when we offered Kanu his little wombats (for those of you who didn’t attend the live representation, this part of the show wasn’t included in the rerun – one more reason for you to be there for the live ;). He didn’t have any idea what we were about to do when we called him on stage, he hadn’t slept at all the night before… And let’s say he wasn’t prepared to be in front of the camera, coming on the set wearing socks with majestic holes! Not only the moment in itself was hilarious, but it’s also all the preparation we put into it, the discussions we shared and how we came to the conclusion that giving him little wombats would be the best birthday present he could ever have. Just as an update, the wombats are now very big, they are 2 couples that needed to be separated because the males kept fighting one another 😉

But talking in a more general way, the Bla Bla Bla in itself is enough to make me smile. The events that happen on that show are like no others, they’re super random and completely unexpected, and to be able to share them with people from all over the world is something that still feels surreal to me. Every Bla Bla Bla makes me feel as a kid on Christmas morning. But a very stressed kid on Christmas morning…

When you think about the “Bla Bla Bla: The Live Show”… what is the 1st thing coming up to your mind?

It depends when is the moment I think about it. If it’s a month before – the amount of time we usually spend getting ready for the show – I am super happy and really excited about it, looking forward to being back on the set and sharing this moment with everyone. If it’s 2 days before, I usually am stressed out of my mind because I do not feel ready for the show, and because “there’s still so many things to do before the show”. And when we’re right before the show, on the couch waiting for the intro song to start, it’s a mix of stress and excitement. Stress of not knowing what’s going to happen on the show, and the excitement of sharing such a unique time with all of you!

Is it true that Sef and you are somewhat rivals? lol!

In a daily context, I would say yes… In a Bla Bla Bla context, I’d say it’s even worse! lol! You need to understand that when we do the show, I need to keep a direction, as there’s always so many things to share with you, and I need to keep it under a certain time frame. The famous 1-hour show quickly turned to a 2-hour show after its second edition, and I have no intention of making it any longer…! Alex is already a challenge, as he talks a lot. But when he talks, there’s a direction, you can follow and join him. But when Sef starts on a topic, it’s practically impossible to understand what he’s saying! lol! He’s really in a world of his own, and it’s impossible for him to join. In a daily situation, I don’t really mind it, as it’s easy to pretend you’re listening to him (but don’t tell him we don’t listen to his nonsense!), and it can be kind of funny, but when it’s during a Bla Bla Bla, it’s something I want to avoid at all costs! But honestly, we argue a lot, but we always have a good time together, and we’re always laughing! Together, and at one another… lol!
